Sturgis Concert

Sunday Jim and I and Ed took Lucy and Andy on a tour of Sturgis. We wanted to give them the layout so they could come and go as they pleased while they are here. We showed them some of our favorite places to go and then showed them a shortcut over to the Buffalo Chip, Full Throttle Saloon, and Glenco. These places are located outside of town and they are known to throw the biggest biker parties. We decided to go back in town and do some shopping. As you can see from pics above, Main Street has been shut down to cars and is for motorcycles only. It was amazing to me that people could find their bikes after parking in all the maze. Jim is standing next to his bike in one of the pics. Later that evening, Jim and I, and Ed and his friend Kitty, went to a concert over at Glenco. We saw the Fantastic Thunderbirds and Tanya Tucker. It was a great concert. Tanya put on a great show. The crowd really went nuts when she came out on the stage. We were getting ready to go home after the concert when we got a call from Lucy and Andy. They had taken the campground bus back into town and wanted us to come down and meet with them. We went to a few bars and watched all the crazy sights and ended up at our favorite place, Gunners. Ed met his friend, Jesse the South Dakota belly shot girl. He got to know her on one of our earlier visits to Gunners. Now I can't tell all that went on because I've been told that what happens in Sturgis stays in Sturgis but the photos of Jim and Ed above show they tried the belly shots. The last picture is of our waitress last night. She is really sweet and lots of fun. Needless to say we shut down Gunners and Lucy and Andy missed their bus back to the campground. So Ed took Lucy back to the campground with me and Jim and then Ed went back to pick up Andy. By the time Ed got back to get Andy, Andy says there was only him and two other people waiting on the street. That whole maze of bikes above had vacated. Monday is a day of much needed rest.
